Operation Photo Rescue helping restore treasured memories in Laplace

A group dedicated to helping restore treasured memories will be set up in Laplace Wednesday, nearly one month after Hurricane Ida caused widespread damage.

Operation Photo Rescue will be located at 1811 Kid Ory Historic House on 1128 LA-628 in Laplace from 1 to 6 p.m. on Saturday to help storm victims restore family photos damaged in the storm.

They plan to set up a site in Terrebonne Parish soon.

The service is free and provided by a group of local and commercial photographers who live in the Greater New Orleans area.

The group provided the following instructions on how to handle damaged photos brought to the group for restoration:

The group said each family can bring up to 20 photos for restoration.
